Apple iPod touch (8GB; second generation)
CNET Asia Review
9
out of 10View score
The bad: May be overwhelming to users looking for a simple music player; audio quality is average; iTunes software is required.
The bottom line: The second-generation iPod touch includes features that are light-years ahead of the competition, its design has improved, and its price has finally come down to earth.

Love it! But still have plenty for improvement
Sep 27, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: The best internet surfing device, now with huge library of software like Palm.
Cons: Poor Battery life, Flash site not supported, iTunes & Genius can't be use, no file manager
Opinion:
It's not about the music playing ipod, but the unique user interface and the superior ease of use. It's not what it can do but how well ipod touch do it.
Compared with iPhone, iPod Touch do not have these:
1. Build-in Mic (It does support mic build in earphones)
2. GPS (Location may still works thru Wifi)
3. Camera (never good enough anyway)
4. GSM, GPRS, 3G network (Nokia is a better phone)
5. Bluetooth (heard that iPod Touch do have bluetooth build in but wasn't activated)

Very nice machine for the size
Sep 15, 2008Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Speaker, Hardware volume controls, sound quality
Cons: Hmmm
Opinion:
I used PC's for over 20 years, but changed to Apple platform about 2 years ago. Never looked back. Still appreciate Windows and some of their features.
I was debating on getting an iPod Touch 2G, but functionally I decided to get a Netbook: Why?
* It plays music.
* I can watch video
* It has bigger storage space.
* I can easily see the screen without squinting
* I can type easier
* I think they are better value for money
* I can be far more productive on a Netbook than a Touch
Sure, it is not as portable, but for me that is not an issue, I am not desperate to have music pounding in my ears every walking and waking moment.
* Netbooks are still very portable.
* I don't live or travel to many places that do not have electricity, so battery life is not a problem.

Looks Similiar
Sep 12, 2008Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: looks edgy !
Cons: price still steep ..
Opinion:
This 2nd gen looks somewhat similiar to the previous one, but I guess they tweaked the back cover to show its new side and just to say that its the 2nd gen, not much of improvement from the previous one but i guess the biggest change has got to be the price, a big drop but then again .. it still steep because of all the advertising going into apple market !
