Nokia has found its market niche

if consumers in general still find the 3.5inch screen a tad bulky (as for iphone & HTC-HD..RIMs storm) of touchscreen-oriented smartphones, this would fit nicely especially to asian users. and because its a music-oriented phone, it is targeted in between an mp3 player, MID, and the iphone/HTC-G1-Android; which offers a strong package in terms of memory capacity, online music, trendy touchscreen form factor, at a more affordable price.what's interesting though are the array of input methods its capable of, which includes rotatable qwerty+alphanumeric keypad, touchscreen & handwriting recognition; and adding some peculiarities of providing a simple yet primitive stand (intent on keeping its low price?) & a plectrum stylus(?) that is normally used for playing guitar (a psychological component to it since its a music-oriented smartphone anyway).
i hope that it would be introduced at a very low price, as promised (perhaps subsidized heavily by telcos to up its popularity), then i'll take one.
Still Considering..

I was on my way to my regular mobile phone shop to fix a mobile phone..as I am checking the phone price, the shopowner offer me this 5800. At first since I am skeptical...about this..I ask for demo first....if the touch feel is not intuitive then...I won't buy it. Since I myself alrady own and iphone 3G.AS come to my surprise the touch feel of 5800 is not bad at all, which i think is really good, just slightly fall below iphone 3G by 10%-20%. And if you see the price of Rp 4.600.000 (579 SGD) (380 USD), the touch feeling is excellent. Unlike those windows mobile device, their touch feeling is really far below my expectation.
Please note, as an iphone 3g user, I know what does it mean by good feel of touch....and so as to my judgement this 5800 touch feel comparison is like:
100% for iphone 3g, and 85%-90% for 5800.
plus 5800 does have nice tactile feedback after pressing button (which you can set and turn off if u want to).
As far for the menu, option, & etc, it may look slightly different, but experience nokia user, should not have any problem with this. Well, since this is a brand new unit, i haven't got further yet with OVI....so it will make this 5800 even further interesting and fun to play with.
Another minus thing....is 5800 does not have FM transmitter like the latest N series...if it does have FM transmitter, then it will be a perfect companion for streaming mp3 to car radio.
in conclusion, in term of price....this 5800 definitely will impact the iphone 3g market, and all other touch based mobile phone. nokia has learn and did an excellent research of the touch feeling/intuitive from all other brand before launching this 5800.
BRAVO NOKIA!
