The good: Solid value with capable video-processing; linear grayscale tracking; accurate color decoding; full feature package for ease of setup; plenty of connectivity.
The bad: Inaccurate primary and secondary colors; black-level performance could be improved a bit more.
The bottom line: One of the better performers in the entry-level 1080p projector race, the Mitsubishi HC6000 also benefits from a comprehensive feature set.

7.  Panasonic PT-AE2000

The good: Produces a deep level of black; solid feature package with lots of setup options like horizontal and vertical lens shift; superb connectivity including three HDMI inputs and a PC input.
The bad: Inaccurate primary colors of red and especially green; not bright enough to drive very large screens.
The bottom line: The Panasonic PT-AE2000 1080p projector is a credible performer, especially when you consider its excellent shadow details.

8.  JVC DLA-HD100

The good: Excellent black levels; superb contrast; solid feature package; plenty of installation flexibility; good connectivity with two HDMI inputs.
The bad: Poor primary and secondary color accuracy; severe over saturation.
The bottom line: Although a top performer in some respects, the JVC DLA-HD100 projector's relatively high price makes it a questionable value considering its color accuracy issues.

9.  InFocus Play Big IN83

The good: Clean, film-like and smooth pictures; accurate primary and natural colors; unique swivel stand; handy touchlight remote; three 1080p24-enabled inputs.
The bad: Black crash; noisy even at low power; chassis lacks onboard controls; no lens cover; a bit chunky.
The bottom line: The InFocus IN83 works beautifully out-of-the-box, delivering smooth, rich pictures. That said, it fails to sizzle, plagued by mild black crush despite a new DarkChip4 engine.

10.  Sanyo PLV-Z2000

The good: Accurate color decoding; independent memory per input; comprehensive connectivity; includes both horizontal and vertical lens shift.
The bad: Primary and secondary color accuracy is way off, particularly red and green.
The bottom line: Despite some performance shortcomings of the Sanyo PLV-Z2000 projector, it's nonetheless a competent and feature-rich 1080p entry.
