Sep 14, 2007Rating: 6 out of 10 (Good)
Pros: More memory and less lagg compared to the D810
Cons: Speaker Volume seems to be weaker then the D810 for bothe earphone and Speaker phone
Opinion:
Here are the bad things about this new device. I just bought it a few days ago and am now in Dubai. First of all the network configuration wizard will not work or configure this device in Dubai. I called up HTC and they said that since I bougt it in Hong-Kong I had to ask Hong-Kong why. Hong-Kong was unable to help as usual not knowing what the problem was. One problem is that in the wizard the UAE or Etisalat no longer appears in the network configuration Wizard. I had the D810 and it worked perfectly and was able to configure the settings on its own but this new ones refuses to configure. Part II I synchronized some songs with my memory card and only half of them will play on my pda. It claims the file is corrupt. I took the memory card and plugged into a memory card reader and played it back on my laptop and through a desktop and both played fine. This means that the neither the card nor the file is corrupt. The cover on the back is also really hard to open as the battery seems to stick out more on the side of the camera. You risk breaking the cover while trying top open the cover to replace the SIM card or battery while you are travelling. Synchronizing the device with my Outlook also take a long time. Other then that the device is good. I think the Dopod D810 with Windows Mobile 6 seemed to work better for me though. It had better sound and everything worked fine with no issues compared to this new device. Word to the new buyer, before leaving the shop make sure you test everything before leaving the shop!! Just because the device is new does not mean it has no issues or problems as the salesmen in Hong-Kong never have extra time and just care about selling you an item. I took away 1 point for customer service in Hong-Kong, 1 point for customer service in Dubai and 2 points for the issues with the device. Until now this HTC P3600 will not connect via GPRS here in Dubai while my old Imate and Nokia E60 have no problems connecting to the internet via GPRS!
