CNET Asia Review
Excellent
The good: High-resolution multi aspect ratio image capture; F2.0 optics; highly customizable modes which can be saved; better-than-average image quality. 8
out of 10View score
The bad: Unable to capture full-resolution images in 16:9 format; use of lens cap may be an issue to some; bundled RAW image-processing software not up to the job.
The bottom line: The LX3 is a good camera with an excellent feature set that positions it way beyond any conventional point-and-shoot on the retail shelves today.

Excellent for indoors and low light situations and landcapes
Aug 22, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: 24mm wide angle low distortion sharp F2.0 lens, AF tracking, multi aspect
Cons: 60mm max. zoom, bulky with projecting lens, expensive accessories/flash unit
Opinion:
I was looking for a portable take anywhere easy a quickly useable compact camera with which I could get good sharp clear pictures of groups of friends on nights out. The wide low distortion 24mm lens lets you fit everybody in and as you do not need to step back far the in-built flash illuminates well at low ISO settings producing high quality images. It is also great for landscape shots, with a full range of manual settings including multi aspect enabling you to take 3 photos in each aspect at the same time. Note that there are no active pixels in the corners of the sensor, which enables a larger width and high sensor to be used for the lens improving image quality.
