My European blogging trip starts today

Indonesia just held a blogger gathering called Pesta Blogger 2008 last Saturday and more than 1,000 bloggers from across the archipelago showed up. It's a blast, right? Apple Online Store now in Indonesia

Seems Indonesia is more exciting now with Apple opening an online store. The launch online Apple store here yesterday just proved it. It's earlier than expected.

Apple also revealed similar openings for other Southeast Asian countries: Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand.

VivaNews, Indonesia's new online media

Indonesia's online media has a new news portal called VivaNews that already launched its beta version yesterday. Owned by Bakrie Group (which was reported as another factor behind the Jakarta market's fall recently), the baby portal offers general news for Indonesian readers.

Indonesia's blunder on privacy

Amid concerns about privacy and security on the Internet, the Indonesian Ministry of Education recently put up a detailed database of students online and in downloadable files. There are at least 36 million students listed on the Web site in Excel files containing names, dates, places of birth and addresses!
