US$1-million car in Vietnam
Posted by Nguyen Minh Hieu
I like cars, although I do not have one yet because all of my money has been put into my business. I dream that one day I will buy a good one to proudly give my friends a ride. However, I will definitely not buy a car that is worth US$1 million. That said, someone did just that yesterday.
On August 21, a Vietnamese car trading company Hoang Trong Ltd presented in its showroom the Phantom car that is said to be worth over US$1 million. Woah! It is unbelievable. I thought its interior must have gold or diamonds all over the place.

Sometimes you can't buy things with your cards
Posted by Nguyen Minh Hieu
Like others, I have been considering setting up a Web site with my own domain and personal content. This site will help me store and share all personal information such as favorite songs, links, documents, blogs as well as photos, but should not cost me too much. Today, I nearly did it.
I already bought my favorite domain name, and all I need now is somewhere in cyberspace to point the domain to and store the site's information. Since it will be only me and few other friends who will have access to the site, I decided that I don't want too much space and bandwidth as many well-known hosting companies offer.
I went on Googling for "cheap hosting". Woah! Here it was, at 2mhost.com which offers a US$2.75 per-month hosting package for 500MB of space and 25GB of monthly bandwidth. It was exactly what I was looking for!
Well, I was eager to click on the five steps required to make the purchase. Filling in information was just a cup of tea, but the last step was a real road bump. I received the message that said: "Unfortunately, we cannot accept orders from Vietnam for new hosting account from 2mHost.com--at this time."
Why? I do have a credit card and I can afford to pay, so shouldn't it be better to offer customers like me in Vietnam a chance?
My eagerness was terminated at that point! I stopped searching for other hosting companies.

Congratulations to the math team

This year, the 48th International Math Olympiad (IMO) is held in Vietnam. I am proud that we are finally the host of the event for some of brightest people in the world.
IMO has been the first international competition for high school students to compete on math problem-solving skills. This year, the event welcomes 94 teams with 526 students from 94 countries around the world. It is organized in Ha Long Bay, one of the most attractive places and world-recognized heritages of Vietnam.

We can share videos, too
Posted by Nguyen Minh Hieu
There is no doubt that YouTube has been the best video-sharing destination for the Internet citizens. However, not everyone can read and understand English, which is especially true for a large portion of young Vietnamese users. The first, and possibly the only, video-sharing portal for the Vietnamese users, Clip.vn, comes in to fill that gap.
Since I have been using and enjoying my free membership on YouTube, I had no intention to try this site until curiosity made me today.

Not another Yahoo trouble?
Posted by Nguyen Minh Hieu
It has been happening since the morning of June 27. All Yahoo's users in Vietnam have had trouble signing into their favorite and still popular Yahoo Messenger to chat with their friends. What about me? I am one of them.
