Canon EOS 1000D vs. Olympus E-420

Both the Canon and Olympus are light in weight and light in cost, yet offer adaptability and image quality of a digital SLR in an accessible, affordable package. Would you opt for the Canon or give the Olympus a fighting chance?

Hmmm...wonder why is there a bias for the Canon...theoretically the Olympus is cheaper and smaller...heck..it looks darn cute with the pancake lens too...

Well , also the 1000D ain't out yet but its obviously has nothing over the Oly E-420 .. The E-420 have something that no other DSLR have yet which is Light-weight which is the main thing in casual photography , i've been using it for a month now and im taking it with me everywhere (i have another canon and it doesn't leave home)its almost 450g with the lens and battery which is incredible beside excellent stills and live-view is a pleasure :) .. for the [IS] the light weight helps on that too .. Great catch !
