How to set up a DVD recorder with an LCD TV?

Sep 20, 2008

Question on Home Entertainment:

I recently purchased a Toshiba 42XV500A LCD TV and tried to connect it to my old Pioneer DVR-520H-S DVD recorder. I followed the instructions but can't get the DVD recorder to work with the TV. Can you take me through the standard method to see if I am missing something?

It should be relatively straightforward in this case. For the best picture quality, just use a component-video cable to hook up the Pioneer recorder to the Toshiba TV. Set the video output of the recorder to 480p and you should be done. If you're still facing problems after this attempt, please contact the manufacturers' customer support for further assistance.
