Which digicam for taking night shots?

Sep 6, 2008

Question on Digicams:

Would appreciate if you could guide me as to which digital camera model (non-dSLR) is the best for taking night shots, especially in churches, and also have a wide angle feature.

Most point-and-shoots these days come with night shooting modes under scene selection, and they work pretty well doing so. What may make a difference would be the maximum ISO sensitivity. If you must have the highest ISO settings, Fujifilm's FinePix F100fd is your best bet. It has a max ISO sensitivity of 12,800, and this is more than enough for most casual shutterbugs.

The Fujifilm has a wide-angle lens of 28mm, but if that is not enough, there are a few other alternatives. One of which is the Samsung NV24HD, which has an ultra-wide-angle lens of 24mm (Panasonic's Lumix DMC-LX3 has it, too, but it is for more advanced users). Panasonic has two models with 25mm optics, too. They are the FX520 and FX38. Read up about the cameras I have mentioned here on our site and hopefully that will give you a better overview.
