Sony VoicePlus: Sony jazzes up the humble voice recorder

Edvarcl Heng  |  Sep 18, 2006

It's not exactly new, but Sony tries to justify the "Plus" in VoicePlus with an MP3 player and a USB jack for easy mass storage options. It's a voice recorder first, so we would expect it to have a pretty decent microphone onboard. Sony claims that there is built-in pitch control and up to almost 18 hours of battery life on this fellow. Runs on AAA battery and available in three colors: Blue (256MB), white (512MB) and dark blue (1GB). Available in Asia Pacific in later this month.

Weird speakers: So can you walk the talk?

Edvarcl Heng  |  Sep 18, 2006

Just because one's born with feet doesn’t automatically qualify one for kickass status. With only a 3W output, these guys looks ready to walk the plank, decibel-wise. But we can't begrudge this pair of wacky speakers for their geeky do and banana yellow leggings. But bearing all these retro stuff must have added a lot to their emotional baggage; these fellows weigh in at 700g. Comes with a DC adapter. US$26.99 a pair. Read more here

Reviewed: Levi's RedWire DLX jeans

Edvarcl Heng  |  Sep 18, 2006

Fashion police alert. No self-respecting iPod geek should be seen without this here pair of snazzy jeans. It's the epitome of geeky glam. Hidden iPod dock? Checked. Uber-cool fabric wire connector? Double-checked. Geek babe magnet? Well, that depends on who's wearing them, doesn't it? Read the full review here

Samsung YP-T9B: Bluetooth-enabled YP-T9

Edvarcl Heng  |  Sep 15, 2006

When we last saw the YP-T9, it was squirreled away behind a glass enclosure like it's the last nut of winter. Like unbearably precious. We wanted to chip away the glass to get at it, but a Samsung security guard spied our chisels and promptly chased us away. Since then we have heard nothing about it.

Now the YP-T9 has made landfall. In China. Along with a new mate as well--the YP-T9B. As the extra letter suggests, the latter is Bluetooth-enabled, but we have no word whether it's to support an A2DP profile or simply a wireless means to sync music with the computer.

What we do know is that it will support MP3, WMA and OGG audio formats. It will also play videos on its 1.8-inch screen such as ASF, AVI, MPEG-4, RMVB and WMV. There will be Flash games as well. With up to 30 hours of audio playback time and an impressive 6 hours for video playback, this looker sure appears like a slick performer. Check out all the pictures (courtesy of ZOL)

OSIM iGoGo: That hottie MP3 player

Edvarcl Heng  |  Sep 15, 2006

We all know how therapeutic New Age music can be while stuck on the daily commute. But imagine how incredibly therapeutic it can be if someone pairs a portable massager with your MP3 player?

The iGoGo MP3 player comes with two separate hydro-gel pads that're connected to the main unit via RF wireless technology. So no disgusting wire tangles. Stick the two pads on your aching shoulders and sit back as the iGoGo massages your muscles in synchronization with your music. It comes with seven different massage programs, and if you are feeling particularly generous, one iGoGo main unit can be paired with four different hydro-gel pads, so you can share the kneading goodness with a fellow commuter. Comes with a 128MB memory and MMC expandability. More iGoGo data here
