If you thought you've seen the last of the Motorola RAZR V3 and its various color renditions, there's still life yet in the old girl. The US company recently teamed up with Ami James of TLC's hit TV series Miami Ink to launch the new Miami Ink Collection RAZRs. The collection, comprising the RAZR V3, RAZR XX and L6, will feature six different tattoo-inspired designs laser-etched onto the exterior case.
The Devil wears Prada. Samsung, on the other hand, wears Armani Exchange. Coming after its recent outing with Calvin Klein for the local market, the Korean chaebol apparently collaborated with CLUB 21's corporate in-store program working with the fashion label A|X to launch the Ultra Edition 6.9 Blue Version. This is expected to be bundled with a matching Bluetooth headset as well as an engraved A|X logo and preloaded fashion wallpapers.

Samsung today announced, in a press release, the availability of the Ultra Edition 12.9 pack with CK Calvin Klein Leather Pouch, which will be sold exclusively through mobile operator M1 in Singapore. The phone is expected to sport the same features and design as the original Ultra Edition 12.9 slider, but will come preloaded with 2006 fashion wallpapers from the Calvin Klein's 2006 winter collection as well as a matching black leather pouch.
Those planning to get their hands on this limited Samsung slider should know that there will be only 1,000 units available on offer on our shores. This edition of the Samsung handset will retail for S$738 (US$493.88) without contract and S$468 (US$313.19) with a two-year mobile plan. The Korean phone maker currently has no plans to release this phone anywhere else in the world.

It looks like Samsung may be going after the compact 3G phone market after all. It is rolling out the Z230 which, like the recently launched Z400 slider, measures a petite 91 x 47 x 22.6mm with a carry weight of just 90g.
Features-wise, the Z230 doesn't bring anything new to the table. In addition to 3G, the rest of its functions pretty much mirror its predecessors. These include a 1.3-megapixel camera, 262K-color display, microSD card slot, Bluetooth and an onboard music and video player. According to Samsung's press release, the Z230 is immediately available from various retail outlets at S$498 (US$333.27) without contract and S$398 (US$266.35) with a two-year plan.
The mobile phone maker will be introducing a red version of its RAZR V3m in support of the Global Fund, an initiative by Bono and Bobby Shriver to fight HIV and AIDS in Africa. This follows Apple's recent announcement of the iPod nano Red Special Edition for the same Product (Red) campaign.
Those of us in Asia who are hoping to get hold of the RED MOTORAZR V3m will, however, be disappointed. Like the Red SLVR which can be purchased only in the UK, the Red RAZR is currently available only in the US from mobile operator Sprint. The handset will retail for US$304.99 (or US$64.99 with a two-year service agreement) in November. Click for larger images (1, 2 and 3)
