You may remember the Asus P750 from a while back when a leaked shot showed what it looked like. Asus gave us confirmation of its existence then, and now, it has provided the missing bits of information. Yes, we have an official image and full specifications.
We knew from earlier that it will have HSDPA connectivity. Other features include built-in GPS and a QVGA display. Unfortunately, RAM, which is the temporary storage used for running applications, remains at 64MB, same as previous P-series PDA-phones from the company. Some flagship models from other brands like the HTC TyTN II come with double that at 128MB.
Asus says the P750 will be available in Singapore from December. We are still waiting for information about its wider Asian availability.
Update: Aside from Singapore, the P750 will also be available in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
On the first day of October, HTC Europe will be unveiling its Q4 2007 lineup to the UK press. A similar event will follow east from there the next day for the German press.
HTC hasn't given any details about what to expect from the press event, but speculation goes that the company will be showcasing products like the Shift, TyTN II and Nike. The Nike is an upgraded version of the Touch, and has been announced in Japan as the NTT DoCoMo FOMA HT1100 (pictured right). It comes with 3G and a numeric keypad, though not Wi-Fi.
As with the Touch and TyTN II, new products from the Taiwan-based company get announced in Europe first. We will then get a picture of what to expect in Asia thereafter.

Remember those rumors last week about HTC making Windows Mobile devices for Sony Ericsson? We don't know how true they are, but we've just received an image of the new upcoming P527 handheld which suggests that Asus would be a better fit for the task.
We first reported on the Asus P527 about a month back, together with the higher-end P750. This is the successor to the P526 and, like that model, comes with a numeric keypad. Take a look at the finish of the chassis and the layout of the keypad. Doesn't it look like a Sony Ericsson? That's good news, of course, considering the Japanese-Swedish mobile phone manufacturer generally gets good feedback for its handset designs.
Form aside, the P527 is a Windows Mobile 6 touchscreen handheld with built-in GPS. It doesn't come with HSDPA or 3G, and we expect that it will not be targeted at power users. We don't have price and availability information yet, but rest assured that we will be following Asus' development in this space very closely. Click here to see the P527's full list of specifications and a larger image.
An interesting video has popped up which shows a Samsung PDA-phone with a trackball-like control. This was apparently shot during the GITEX event in the Middle East earlier in the month.
The person who shot the video, going by the name DinarSoft, also posted specifications of the new device on Pocket PC Thoughts, a Windows Mobile enthusiast site. This new device is supposedly named the i780 and comes with HSDPA connectivity, a 320 x 320-pixel display, Windows Mobile 6 Professional and an optical mouse which controls the pointer on the screen. We expect that this will be similar to the one found on the Raon Digital Everun UMPC.
In a separate dealer event in Amsterdam, this new handheld along with a host of other new phones were featured as well. We are waiting for the official word from Samsung, so just enjoy the video in the meantime.
