My Christmas wishlist--Part I

I was happy to see most of the bloggers on CNET Asia write about what they wished for from Santa, with some wishing for world peace and good health. Then, of course, there are the gadgets :). Well, I suppose all of us would wish for the same things. Given the current world dynamics and the political and economic situation, most of us are affected in one way or another. A peaceful world would always be something that all of us desire. Here's what I would be wishing for.

India's indigenous mission to moon starts

The countdown for the Wednesday launch of India's first and indigenous lunar mission, called the Chandrayaan-1 onboard the polar satellite launch vehicle (PSLV-C11), started early today.
The countdown for Chandrayaan-1 started at 5.22 hours, with about 1,000 top scientists and technologists working round-the-clock to send India's first spacecraft mission beyond Earth's orbit from the picturesque spaceport located on an island about 80km from Chennai.

The Dark Knight Series of graphics cards from ASUS announced

A new Dark Knight Series of the most popular graphics cards from the ATI and Nvidia stables have been launched by ASUS. The graphics cards included in this series are the EAH4870 and EN9800GTX+. The Dark Knight Series promise to deliver extreme cooling and a whopping 109 percent performance (overclocked, though).
The Dark Knight cards will feature the most reliable Japanese solid-state capacitors, superb-looking DIP spring chokes, LF PAK MOS and also the legandary EMI shield. ASUS has gone many steps into the future by significantly improving these two rival cards.
