Friendster beefing up their Asia-Pacific foothold
Aug 7, 2008 14:16
Got this from one of my Multiply contacts, which linked a story to Business World Online, relating how Friendster just added more capital to fund expansion in the Asia-Pacific region. According to the article from Business World Online, "Friendster Vice-President for Global Marketing David Jones said the $20-million loan from investor IDG Ventures would allow Friendster to extend its leadership position in Asia-Pacific, where more than a third of the world’s Internet users are located." This includes China of course (which, according to Internet World Stats, has obviously the largest internet population), along with Japan, South Korea, and of course Philippines.

Finally! Globe will release the iPhone 3G on August 22
Aug 6, 2008 16:44
Well I guess the cat's out of the bag. Globe's Web site already has news of the release date and plans associated with the iPhone 3G... and bloggers aren't happy! Already, a number of my Twitter mates and tech blog contacts are saying the iPhone package is waaaay overpriced (US$1,115 for the iPhone 3G or around Php 48K).
For more info on the Globe packages, simply visit the Globe iPhone 3G page.
So what do you think? About time? Will you be getting one as well?

I mean, the waiting area for our gate was loaded, and when I decided to sit elsewhere, the plane started boarding.

Jul 24, 2008 10:28
Yesterday, I saw a link from one of my FaceBook contacts regarding someone asking for help. Little did I know that it would be the start of something very big among wired Filipinos. Like a brushfire, news of three-year-old Matthew David Samudio's abduction spread from social networks to blogs until it reached even mainstream news.

Filipinos really are crazy... Internet crazy
Jul 14, 2008 11:52
First off, let me just say, the past few weeks have been quite, shall we say, illuminating! In case you missed the announcement of my move, the past few weeks have really tested my knowledge and instinct of Pinoy net-pop culture trends. From the mundane to the more business aspects and even to the insane, I've had to really take stock of where Filipinos are headed in this online trend and where we, as businesses should be heading... or at least trying to get involved in a piece of the action.
